Hey everyone!

Did you think I ran away? Well, my webmaster was on a HUGE cruise (up and down Halsted several times). So we're up and running again.

I finally attempted to use my laptop only to have it recalled because the battery could catch on fire. Now, coming from someone who knows "a thing or two" about batteries, I can only imagine how I could explain the burnmarks to all of you.

Thanks for the phone calls and well-wishes on my birthday! The t-shirt boys made the evening and the cake that was made for my mom was unbelievable!! My mom enjoyed her evening and was glad to see everyone enjoying her cookies.

The weekend with her was a riot! We spent the day with a few different friends. It began at the Park Grill Restaurant (great food). Then the Red Line to Slubgger's Duelling Piano Bar. Yes I said the RED LINE. Our Ride began by me making an announcement. Everyone looked away until I said that no money was involved. I told them it was my birthday and I wanted them to sing Happy Birthday to me! It was FABULOUS! We were hysterical, Mom hid in the little seat next to the operator's booth.

We went to Slugger's and did jello shots explaining to my Mom (who also did them) that there's no alcohol, it's the jello right before it solidifies. Then we decided to go to Boystown where we went to several bars. I flashed my "girls" and got bunches of beads. However, in doing so, I lost a very expensive pair of sunglasses (all I had left was one of the stems stuck in my bra). Oh how proud my mom was! THEN, SHE flashed!

I'm sure it will make the papers soon. Mom was a little "tired" on Sunday so we hung out at the house and she did "Mom-stuff" -- dishes, vacuumed, etc.

It was a wonderful weekend. Thanks again to all for your thoughts and good wishes. You'll be hearing from me VERY soon. This is more a promise than a threat.

Love,

Kathryn

SEPTEMBER 01 = KATHRYN TURNS 51!

Mom will be there with COOKIES!!

That's right! But bear in mind that Kathryn has hired Bouncers for the night (not Strippers...sorry) to intercept anything resembling OVER THE HILL, TOMBSTONES, Anything BLACK (unless it retails for above $5000), ETC.

In other words, bring her favorite two things: PEOPLE and CASH!

So come...and enjoy the evening.

I'm still at Gentry on State Street every Wednesdays from 8:30p-12:30a; Fridays from 5:30-8:30p and Saturdays from 9:30p-1:30a and I've missed seeing some of you...some, not so much (just kidding...MAYBE).

Regarding my PROMISE to you LAST YEAR...GET READY. SERIOUSLY -- I BOUGHT A COMPUTER! I'm going to ACTUALLY begin answering my e-mails as soon as I get this whole recalled battery thing figured out!! [sky opens with radiant beams of light and a chorus of angels sings]

So, challenge me...keep writing and don't forget to be patient. Let's face the new year together with laughter, good health and lots of fun.

As always, I adore playing, singing and talking to all of you. I feel very very lucky to be in a place where I feel so much love and being surrounded by you -- my family.

XOXOX

Hello!

Well, the month of snow (sometimes yellow), Christmas credit card bills coming in and the January blues has come to a close.

February is here and I've been busy planning for a fun month!

On Tuesday, February 8, we're celebrating FAT TUESDAY!

Now, before any of you start thinking something TOTALLY different...let me explain. Fat Tuesday (Mardi Gras) is at the end of Mardi Gras week filled with all sorts of fun and debauchery before many of you give things up (God forbid...not THAT) for Lent.

So, come celebrate and party with us at Gentry on State St.!

By the way, I'm not keeping track of what you give up -- unless it's tipping the piano player. So ALL Sinners are welcome as usual.

On Saturday, February 12, we're having a BIG Valentine's Day party!

I know, I know...it's not the 14th but my Mom's famous COOKIES will be at the party.

We'll have some great games with fabulous prizes, a trick or two and lots of fun! Just remember that Valentine's Day isn't just a celebration of lovers and sweethearts. It's a joyful day to acknowledge the love of cherished friends and meeting new people (have you SEEN the Men's Room lately?!).

So come...and enjoy the evening.

I'm still at Gentry on State Street every Tuesday through Saturday and I've missed seeing some of you...some, not so much (just kidding...MAYBE).

Also, I'm making a PROMISE to you...GET READY. I'm going to ACTUALLY begin answering my e-mails!! [sky opens with radiant beams of light and a chorus of angels sings]

So, challenge me...keep writing and don't forget to be patient. Let's face the new year together with laughter, good health and lots of fun.

Mom's busy baking cookies for everyone for the party on Saturday, Feb. 11th so go ahead and fill in that blank in your social calendar as "Time with Kathryn" and everyone will be happy.

If you remember, read below if you don't, I bought a computer. Well...just this past week I FINALLY OPENED THE BOX! Eric, my webmaster, has graciously agreed to tutor me in this grand step (read: kick up the tips guys...he's not cheap!) and I'll finally get to keep that promise!

Check the calendar and I hope to see you all VERY soon and QUITE often *wink & nudge*

Hello!

Welcome to my new website! I'm so excited about this! As many of you know, I'm not exactly a technological wizard. At this moment, there's a crew of people sitting around me telling me which keys to press.

My website will be filled with various kinds of information, including:

  • My performance calendar
  • Pictures of events
  • Items you can purchase
  • and much more!

There's also a question and answer section if you have a burning desire to find something out about me. As you know, at this moment I don't have a computer... so trained carrier pigeons are in waiting to fly the questions over to me and "drop" them off.

I've been back at Gentry for a year now and am having a truly wonderful time. As you know, "I'm here to help in any way that I can" so let's have some fun. I look forward to cocktail hour continuing to be filled with good times, great laughs and fabulous cocktails... but not necessarily in that order.

With love,

Kathryn Payne
